Lead Environmental Engineer – Air Emission Reduction Systems – Germany
Lead Engineer / Project Manager to design environmental systems & processes for a leading global manufacturer. Senior/ Technical Lead Environmental Engineer with air pollution control.
Must be fluent in English - German language is not required.
This is a very visible Senior/ Lead role. You are in charge of choosing the technology to meet environmental targets in both new and existing plants worldwide working with leading engineers, designers and urban planners globally.
Experience of Air pollution control systems & odour reduction is key.
3 key areas:
- Air emission reduction systems - low NOX, low sulphur, optimisation
- Odour reduction
- Waste water treatment design
Role:
- Spec, procure, install & accept all environmental technology equipment in industrial plants
- Design & Lead new processes for very large industrial treatment facilities
- Design & Lead projects leading to environmental protection
- Air pollution control systems, odour reduction
- Obtain, update, and maintain plans, permits, and standard operating procedures
- Monitor the progress of environmental improvement programs
- Upgrade air & wastewater treatment in both urban and rural areas
- Lead technical negotiations
Essential to have:
- Degree in Engineering essential - ideally Environmental Engineering or similar
- Mechanical, Civil or Chemical Engineering degree ok with MSc Environmental
- commercial environmental experience in Industry
- Environmental technology experience
- Air handling environmental engineering
- Fluent in English
Advantage to have experience of:
- Design, Spec, procure & install environmental technology equipment in industrial plants
- upgrading environmental technology in older urban plants & spec out new industrial plants
- Air Pollution control using RTO or alternatives to RTO (Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer)
- Odour reduction using Cold Plasma or alternatives to Cold Plasma
- Scrubbers
- Fine particulate matter air pollutant - PM2.5
- Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs), Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and odorous emissions that are often discharged from industrial or manufacturing processes
- Total organic carbon (TOC)
NB: these are multiple projects with a €100m investment budget. Essential to have someone with real project management experience running large projects of Treatment of Air / Water.
Environmental Engineer / Tech Lead - Wide and varied role in both - helping improve the environment in Greenfield / Brownfield New Build Industrial Plants as well as upgrades in existing plants.
What environmental technology client is using right now, might not be the best tech for requirements. So key and early part of this position will be to ascertain what is best tools for the job.
- This is a senior and varied project manager role - to play a leading role in industrial plant equipment. Therefore it is important to have a good business mind & Goal orientated.
- Have excellent communication skills & be highly motivated and be able to motivate others.
- Introduce new green technology to plants - upgrades, competency, new technology, make energy efficiency improvements, audits, market analysis of new tools.
- Hands on role in Management of large scale multi million $ engineering on utility projects. eg specification, acquisition, installation, acceptance of equipment.
